Deschenes of Terryville; two daughters and sons in law, Linda and David Magee of Seattle, WA, and Nancy and John Dillaway of Avon; two brothers, Emil Deschenes of St. Jacques, New Brunswick, Canada, and Anidas Deschenes of East Hartford; three granddaughters, Jessica and Kara Dillaway of Avon, and Haley Magee of Seattle, WA; and several nieces and nephews.

Louis D. Deschenes, 78, of Bristol, beloved husband of Jeannine (Nadeau) Deschenes, died on Sunday (July 25, 2010) at The Pines of Bristol.  Louis was born on October 27, 1931, in St. Joseph, New Brunswick, Canada and was the youngest of eight children of the late Ernest and Flavie (Roussel) Deschenes.  A Bristol resident since 1962, he worked at Connecticut Spring for 45 years retiring as a supervisor.  He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War.  He was a member of St. Matthew Church, Forestville, an avid Boston Red Sox fan, and he enjoyed gardening, fishing, and bowling.  He was a good husband and father.  In addition to his wife of 55 years, Louis is survived by a son, Daniel L. Deschenes of Terryville; two daughters and sons in law, Linda and David Magee of Seattle, WA, and Nancy and John Dillaway of Avon; two brothers, Emil Deschenes of St. Jacques, New Brunswick, Canada, and Anidas Deschenes of East Hartford; three granddaughters, Jessica and Kara Dillaway of Avon, and Haley Magee of Seattle, WA; and several nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday (July 29, 2010) at 9 AM from Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Avenue, Bristol, to St. Matthew Church for a celebration of Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM. Burial, with military honors, will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.  Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday between 6 and 8 PM.
